History
The first Europeans set foot on Virginia Beach in 1607, and since the early 1800s the area has been a resort location. The development of the railroad and transportation options helped the city grow, and the city was incorporated in 1906. Since that time, Virginia Beach has continued to grow and expand, making it one of the best vacation destinations in the world.
