Description:

Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge provides home to an array of wildlife, including endangered species like the bald eagle and the loggerhead sea turtle. The park sits on 9,000 acres on a strip of coast about 10 miles south of downtown Virginia Beach. Visitors can hike through an assortment of natural habitats ranging from marshlands to sand dunes.

Visitors Station open Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Sat. - Sun. 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Park open daily dawn to dusk
